Located in the southeast of Puebla State and 120 km from Puebla City, the municipality of Tehuacán represents 1.15% of the total state area. According to the last report from the national population census, Tehuacán has a total population of 274,906 inhabitants, of which 52.8% are women, and 47.1% are men.

Founded on June 29th of 1984, Tehuacán Campus has a total land area of 161,408.70 m², 179,612 m² of land to building area, and 65,794 m² of sports and green areas (including the parking lot and the high school area).
